On March 26, 2017, the award ceremony of Denmark’s 11th EUSTORY History Competition took place during the historical festival »Historiske Dage« in Copenhagen. Organised by the Danish History Teachers’ Association, this year’s competition encouraged Danish students to explore the topic of »Denmark in the world - the world in Denmark«. In total, 70 participants submitted 24 entries. The contributions varied from written papers to creative projects on CD, Video or DVD and web based products.

At a public ceremony under the leadership of the former President of the United Nations General Assembly and current patron of the Danish History Competition, Mogens Lykketoft, the prize winners received their awards. Dr. phil. Thorkild Kjærgaard, head of the Danish jury, awarded the prizes. The money prizes are granted on three levels: One first prize in the amount of 10,000 DKK, one second prize in the amount of 2,000 DKK and one third prize in the amount of 1,000 DKK.

The first round of the Danish competition "Historiekonkurrencen" was launched in 2005 under the title: "Roots - Where do you come from?". Since then, it has been organised by the Danish History Teachers’ Association, an association with more than 1,500 members.
