More than a month after Russia started its attack on Ukraine we asked our project partners for their perspective on the war in Europe, how it impacted their country in general and their project work in particular. Here are some impressions we collected.
The Georgian History Competition project team was invited to the morning show of Georgia’s widely known TV channel “Formula TV” and got the opportunity to present the 2021/2022 Georgian history competition to a wide audience.
Newly created online platforms of all active history competitions in the cooperation now offer the opportunity to dig a bit deeper. They provide information about the competition rounds, allow the electronic submission of entries and motivate to participate.
The history competition project in Belarus came to a (premature) end in August 2021 when the DVV International country office had to end all its activities in the country due to a decision by the Belarusian authorities.
Teacher workshops in Kiev used immersive theatre methods as a new approach in order to "transfer" the participants into the different times of the Soviet era. An old suitcase and several letters played an important part and triggered the debate.
Armenia joins the cooperation project “History Competitions 3.0” and will conduct a first nationwide history competition of the Transcaucasian republic. Reason enough to present some more information and insights about the Armenian competition topic, the Armenian project team and their first implementation steps.

The Online History Camp “Don’t Look Back in Anger – Coping with Painful Pasts” ended with satisfied young participants and creative results.
For the 2019/20 competition "Restarting Life From Scratch", 55 pupils explored their local or family past. Because the focus lay on migration, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) office in Georgia supported the current competition.
