189 students participated in the second history competition in Moldova. The winning entries went through a judging process that recognised the hard work put in by the students.

The Online History Camp “Don’t Look Back in Anger! Coping with Painful Pasts” brings history competition prize winners of four countries together. Young people from Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine will meet for six intensive weeks in online sessions to investigate and discuss matters of family and local history and their impact on the present.

Starting in September 2019, a total of 1,727 young people aged between 14 and 18 years got engaged in the competition dealing with the topic „Soviet Past – Rethinking the History“. Teamed up into research groups, pupils conducted 290 local studies of the Ukrainian Soviet past.

In Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, excitement is rising: in March, all four Eastern Partnership countries have deadlines coming up for this year's history competition entries. The organisers expect an active participation.
The cooperation project supervised by Körber-Stiftung and DVV International and funded by the German Foreign Office just started in its second year to carry on the history competitions in Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and in Ukraine.

On 16 June 2018, the award ceremony of the Ukrainian history competition took place in the National Museum of History in Kiev. 288 teams with more than 1,000 young people aged between 14 and 18 years from different regions of Ukraine submitted their entries on the topic: »(Hi)story of my Community: The Past for a Common Future.«
