About the Organisation
The Bronisław Geremek Foundation (Fundacja Centrum im. Prof. Bronisława Geremka) is a Warsaw-based non-profit organisation that promotes civic education, democratic culture and European cooperation, inspired by the legacy of prof. Bronisław Geremek. We develop educational programmes and public debates for young people and educators, strengthen historical awareness and critical thinking, and support dialogue in a pluralistic society.
About the Competition
The Polish EUSTORY competition engages upper-secondary school students in researching and narrating contemporary history through a creative, source-based project. The competition responds to the challenge of an overloaded school curriculum, which often results in limited classroom time for Poland’s recent history. It encourages participants to critically compare cultural portrayals of the period with authentic personal memories and archival materials drawn from their families and communities. The competition also supports intergenerational dialogue and the transmission of experiences and values between generations, while strengthening critical thinking, media literacy and project-based learning skills.
