At the end of 2015, the House of European History will be established in Brussels and it will also present contributions of young Europeans. Gabriele Woidelko, managing director of the European history network EUSTORY and expert on Europe within the Körber Foundation, was invited by the European Parliament to present the work of EUSTORY to the planning board.

“During the last ten years, young Europeans who participated in the twenty-two national Eustory history competitions have written thousands of research papers about European regional and family history. This mosaic of a European memory would be an important addition to the permanent exhibition of the future museum. EUSTORY’s objective is to turn young Europeans into responsible European citizens by fostering a critical approach to history. EUSTORY's contributions will provide helpful suggestions to the pedagogical work of the museum”, Ms Woidelko stressed during her talk with the planning board and representatives from leading European historical and cultural networks.

The aim of the meeting was to debate the concept of the House of European History and also to explore the possibilities of cooperation. The Museum will present processes and events in Europe from the beginning of the mid-19th century to the present day in a trans-national, multilingual and interactive fashion. The theme of the first permanent exhibition, which is presently being planned by a multi-national and interdisciplinary team of experts, will be that of “shared memories” which allows room for different interpretations and perceptions of history.
