Irish Finals and Award Ceremony Brings Hollywood-Feeling to Galway

With an online award ceremony on 30 July 2020, the Irish National History Competition organisers made the most of a rather difficult situation. Their online celebration was able to create an atmosphere similar to the Oscars with the suspenseful revealing of prize winners at the end of their ceremony.

Irish Award Ceremony 2019

22 May 2019 was the day of the finals for the Irish History Competition organised by “Breaking the SEAL” (BTS). The occasion was incorporated in the 20 Year Celebration of the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG)’s Access Centre. The Centre aims at providing support to students coming from non-tradition routes to access third level education. BTS is one such programme.

Irish Award Ceremony 2018

On 30 May, 2018, the prizewinners of the Irish history competition received their awards in the Moore Institute of the National University of Ireland in Galway. The competition was organised by “Breaking the SEAL”. As in previous years the choice for a focus topic was open.

Award-Winning Competition from Galway Goes National

Following the great success of the regional Galway History Competition that is organised by “Breaking the SEAL”, the organisers are now looking forward to take the History Competition to the national level. As in previous years the choice for a focus topic will be open. The awards ceremony will take place in late May 2018.
