New Format of Czech Award Ceremony Provides Suspense

For the first time in the history of the Czech History Competition, the three main prize winners were selected during the actual award ceremony. On 22 October 2021, 10 finalists of the competition’s first round gathered at PANT Centrum in Ostrava to present their works.

"EUSTORY Influenced My Career"

Dr. Zdeněk Hazdra works as Director of the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes in Prague. As student, he was among the prize winners of the first Czech EUSTORY History Competition in the year 2000/2001. Katja Fausser, Managing Director of EUSTORY, talked to him about the relevance of this early experience and how the EUSTORY approach can contribute to the dialogue on 20th century history in Europe.

Award Ceremony of the 10th Czech History Competition

On April 18, ten prize-winners of the annual Czech History Competition received their prizes at the award ceremony that took place in the Town Hall of Prague 3. Many partners and co-operating organisations of the competition attended the event.

Czech Example of Historical Research

For his research about the story of a photograph which was taken in 1943 on the Eastern front during the Second World War, Jiri Klůc was awarded third prize in the 2015/2016 Czech history competition.
